What is a Guest Magician?

The Mankind Project teaches men to become more emotionally mature. One of the critical elements of that process is the thousands of the men's circles called Integration Groups, or I-Groups for short. These groups meet every week or so, sit in circle and go deep. Most I-Group meetings follow a structure taught in the "Primary Integration Training" (PIT) which lays out a structure for creating a a safe "container" for men to do our work. This structure is patterned after the Four Masculine Archetypes described in the bool "King, Warrior, Magician, Lover" by Moore and Gillette. The meeting is organized into four segments:

• The Lover round during which men check in and briefly report on how they are feeling
• The Warrior round in which we examine any places in our lives where we are out of accountability with self or others.
• The Magician Round where we go deep and help each others examine and resoluble any challenges we may be facing.
• The King round where we thank and honor each other for doing our work.

For many years now, I have been invited to visit I-Group in lower Washington and British Columbia as a "Guest Magician". I would bring some teaching piece or a n exercise that would help the men in the circle learn something new.

With the advent of Covid, traveling to these I-Groups became impossible, so most groups shifted to using Zoom. This gave me the opportunity to continue to meet with these groups, but without having to drive anywise. I now sit in two i-Gropes every week, one based here4 in Bellingham which will shift back to face-to-face meetings with in is safe to do so,, , and the e other which is based around men living on Vancouver Island, many of whom are close friends of mine.

Over the past few years, I have developed short trainings that last 90-120 minutes and focus around specific topics such as Emotional Maturity, Social Skills and the Drama Triangle. The list is constantly growing. I offer these trainings for free, as a gift of service. I accept donations, feedback and testimonials. This page lists the course I am offering and developing.

Requesting a Guest Magician Visit

If you want me to visit your I-Group, you will need to agree to give me at least 90 to 1290 minutes to "do my magic". This works best if you can alter the structure of the meeting so that my teaching replaces both the Warrior and Magician rounds.
